Monday 1, November 2010

Whew what a busy day at work..... Was worried the kids would show up on total sugar highs but no problem everybody was A OK!!!

For breakfast I had 3/4 cups of rice chex w/ 1/2 a cup of blueberries it was super yummy... Had the usual commuter mug of coffee w/ fat free half and half and 1 tsp of sugar..

Lunch consisted of one slice whole wheat bread and on top of that was 1/2 a cup of sloppy joe meat mixture. Along side was 1/2 of a small baked potato with a drizzle of salsa on it. I drank a whole sugar free grape powerade which to my surprise was good. I despise anything w/ aspartame in it but this had Splenda which my stomach can tolerate (I'm very, very bad about drinking enough water during the day).

I got a tad bit hungry in the afternoon so I treated myself to a Weight Watchers dark chocolate peppermint patty, it was smooth, rich, decadent and very filling, not a dinky little candy but a good sized piece of heaven!!!

Dinner consisted of a Bocca burger on top of one slice of whole wheat bread (man the Bocca burgers are super delicious) Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh don't tell my vegetarian daughter I got into her stash of Bocca burgers, hee hee... I topped that w/ a drizzle of ketchup, sliced onion and a slice of bread and butter pickle.  Along side was 1 cup of sweet green peas....

My huge dilema of the day was after dinner, given the fact that I had 3 points left should I have a Weight Watchers choc chip cookie dough ice cream sundae or 1, I repeat 1 glass of wine??????? I chose the wine because it's been days since my last sip of vino and the ice cream I just had last night..

I texted my friend who is on this lifestyle change as well as I had a question.... It's awesome to have GOOD friends along this journey to support me and give me pointers it makes this all the more easy.... I am full from dinner and I've used all of my points for the day. I think I'll kick back now and watch some tv and if I get hungry or bored and feel the need to eat I will make myself a nice hot cup of tea and enjoy my evening...

I'm so very proud of myself, I feel better each and every day of this journey an I hope atleast one of you finds it inspirational.. I just can't wait to get weighed in on Saturday I'm so looking forward to that.....

I hope November brings me peace, tranquility and a new pair of jeans, hee hee!

More soon and stay positive!!

Happy November!!!!!!!!!!!

What a great day yesterday was...... All the little trick or treaters were adorable and I got so much exercise running back and fourth from the office in the back of the house to the front door to pass out candy (first year in 20 years I was home alone on a holiday)...

Yesterday I used up all 22 of my WW points and I didn't wake up hungry. I woke up tired due to the fact that I went to bed after midnight but I wasn't hungry, LOL.

For lunch I had 2 sticks of celery w/ peanut butter on it and a bowl full of romaine lettuce with two slices of turkey cut up and 2 TBS of virtually fat free salad dressing, I felt a bit hungry but hey this is a new process for me, hee hee.

For dinner I had a WW thai chicken with peanut sauce frozen entree and for dessert I had a WW cookie dough ice cream sundae OH MY LANTA both of those were amazing, tasted great and filling. Not sure I will routinely buy frozen items but I just happened to be at the store getting cash for baby boy so he could go to the movies with a friend so.................................................... I'm glad I tried them anyway!!

Woke up this morning in a great mood. This diet, or lifestyle change I should say, sure does keep one motivated and feeling proud. All I can really think of is weigh in on Saturday!! Oh, oh I'll be out of town this weekend visiting my best friend and I found out that I can attend a meeting and get weighed in even though I'm not at home how cool is that??? :-) I really enjoy writing down EVERYTHING I consume during the day it's nice to glance at thru the course of the day and see how well one's doing on their discipline.

I plan to start walking in the evenings again w/ several women that live in my development, they walk M, W, F evenings at 7pm.. Nice that I don't have to get in the car and go anyplace I just walk steps out my front door to meet them, yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for me!!!!! :-)

Oh I forgot to mention it's important to actually see numbers for me, I'm a very visual person and at my first WW meeting/ weigh in on 30, October I weighed 159.. I'm so confident that that number will be lower at my next weigh in coming up on Saturday.... Visualization is a huge key for me, I love to have something to look forward to...

I have a big high school reunion coming up in July and that is a HUGE motivator for me.

Enjoy this first day of November!!  I know I sure will..

More soon and keep positive...

And so we begin!!

 Friday 29, October 2010

Weight loss, weight gain, weight loss, weight gain................ The time has come to turn over a new leaf and actually begin and STICK WITH something!!

I've put my mind to it and I'm joining Weight Watchers... I make the call to receive my free 13 weeks of membership vouchers to present at each week's meeting!!

I hang up the phone and feel soooooooooooooo excited.....

Saturday 30, October 2010

My first Weight Watchers meeting........ I walk in super confident and excited to see just how this whole process works..... I'm amazed at how positive and upbeat the feeling of the room is.... I speak out and answer some of the questions that the meeting leader is throwing out to us, and I'm actually very comfortable and happy to be in the room on this early Saturday morning!!

I get home and read over all of the materials given to me... I think to myself WOW this is a super easy plan to follow and I'm so happy there are no EXTRAS I HAVE to purchase such as meal bars, shakes, supplements, etc.  This will so fit into my lifestyle..

For breakfast I have 3/4 cups of rice checks, 1/2 a cup of 1% milk and a handful of blueberries. I think WOW this is not very much food but that combined with my 2 cups of coffee w/ fat free half and half and 1 tsp of sugar is quite satisfying.. :-)

For lunch I have a 6 inch tortilla w/ sprouts and tuna all combined w/ 1 TBS of Miracle Whip. This is a great lunch that my daughter has just provided me with, hee hee!  Oh the 4 oz of 1% milk was really good too!

For dinner I enjoy 1/2 of a hamburger bun w/ 1/2 a cup of Sloppy Joe meat mixture on it, a sweet potato cooked and mashed up w/ nothing but pumpkin pie spice and 8oz of terrific merlot - did I mention that you can enjoy WINE while on this lifestyle change?  There I just did, hee, hee!!!

31, October 2010

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!! I woke up early this morning, around 3am feeling super de duper hungry!! I am allowed 22 points per day food wise and looking at my food tracker from yesterday I realize I only used up 17 of those 22 points, DAH... If your given 22 points by golly USE THEM!! :-) I will heed my own advice today regarding points!! :-)

For breakfast I enjoyed 2 scrambled egg whites and half of a baked potato cut up and all mixed with dill, salsa and cut up red onion... A whole wheat piece of toast accompanied the meal along with my two steaming hot cups of coffee with fat free half and half and 1 tsp of sugar.

Sometimes I think to myself, today I'm going to write down my meals in the morning and stick to it!! But then I think what is the fun in that? Live spontaniously, by the seat of your pants, just make each meal at meal time and surprise yourself - yes!!! That is the way I will face each day.. :-)

I've also recently been put back on thyroid hormones, which to my surprise I REALLY needed to be on and I feel so much better after 2 weeks, more energy, sleeping better at night, less hair loss... I'm learning each day how important it is to take care of ourselves and put ourselves first before all others!!  If we do that we can be far more nurturing to our families...

I look forward to this wonderful, fun  holiday!! I do have to share that I love Snickers candy bars.  I didn't buy one single bag of them I only bought candy that I like not LOVE that way the temptation won't be screaming at me all day!! I look forward to the 100's of kids we get each year on Halloween but I do have to say I miss my husband and daughter very much, both of which are on their way to CA as I type, literally!!

More soon and keep positive!!
